How the Course Package Plan Works
As you or your staff members become Registered Users, they will be made a part of the
Automatic Staff Training System which is designed to systematically take them through all of the core courses currently available at the
Online Training Center resulting in a comprehensive education.
The training steps are:
 |
Training Step
#1: Begins as soon as the individual is made a Registered
User of the Online Training
Center. Doesn't matter when they are added to your Group so you can have staff members start at different times. Great for those properties you know are currently experiencing a workload problem. Perfect for new hires! The course enrollments in this first step are:
 |
Getting Started:
A quick introduction to the Center, information on how to navigate the courses and an explanation of how their training plan will
work. |
 |
Compliance Assessment:
A pre-assessment test course revealing the individual's current compliance knowledge
level. |
 |
Housing Credits 101: Compliance Basics:
The first of 5
courses that discusses the site compliance requirements. |
|
Step #1 is designed to familiarize the student with the Online Training Center and its courses. It is also designed to determine the student's current knowledge level and give them a basic overview of the Housing Credit Program and its requirements.
 |
Training Step
#2: Begins as soon as the individual completes all of the courses in Training Step #1. The course enrollments in this step are:
 | Fair
Housing 101: A Fair Housing Primer: A
sound look at the federal fair housing laws & protected
classes.
Housing Credits 103: Income and Assets:
The second of
5 courses that discusses the site compliance requirements.
|
|
Step #2 is designed to teach the student the important
concept of income eligibility including how to perform those all
important calculations.
 |
Training Step
#3: Begins as soon as the student has completed both
courses (Fair Housing 101 and Housing Credits 103) contained in
Training Step #2. The next course the student will be enrolled in is:
 |
Housing Credits 204: Unique Program Rules:
The third of 5
courses that discusses the site compliance requirements. |
|
This training level is designed to take the student to the next level and teach her the unique rules of this Program. As these rules are often complicated and the concepts more advanced, this is the only enrollment associated with this Step.
 |
Training Step
#4: Begins as soon as the student has completed the Training Step #3. The next course the student will be enrolled in is:
 |
Housing Credits 205: Income Limits, Rents & Utility Allowances:
The fourth of 5
courses that discusses the site compliance requirements. |
|
This training level will introduce and teach the student the rules surrounding income limits and rents so he may begin truly mastering site level compliance.
 |
Training Step
#5: Begins as soon as the student has completed Training Step #4. The next course the student will be enrolled in is:
 |
Housing Credits 245: Site Compliance Specialist:
The fifth of 5
courses that discusses the site compliance requirements. |
|
As your students arrive at this level, they have learned a great deal about the Housing Credit Program and Site Level Compliance! They have also learned an abundance of tips and techniques to make their jobs easier and more manageable. In this level, the students will focus on preparing for the
Site Compliance Exam so they can earn their
Site Compliance Specialists (SCS)
designation. The course will fully prepare the students for the
Exam.

You are given 21 days to complete each Training Step. When a Training Step is completed,
the Online Training Center will
review your information to ensure completion of all the requirements
contained in the Step which takes approximately 4 to 6 hours. Once this
review is completed, you will be enrolled in the next step and will
receive an email from the Online Training Center telling you to begin the
next Training Step. Simple and easy!!
If a course extension is needed... NO PROBLEM... plus, the
extension will not affect the automatic enrollments as they are only
triggered when you complete the entire Training Step!!
